Hall Jewel T Pitcher, Autumn Leaf Milk Jug, Mid Century, Collectible Pattern
VintagObsessions presents this fabulous mid century Hall's Superior Jewel Tea Pitcher. Very collectible pottery, this pitcher was from the factory of Hall Pottery. Medium 6 inch tall that is perfect for serving your favorite drink. Research has shown that this backstamp was made from Feb. 1954 until
HISTORY: In 1933, the Jewel Tea Company had exclusive rights to the pattern and secured the Hall China Company to create this design for them. Mrs. Mary (Dunbar) Hartson was the director of the Jewel Homemakers Institute, an entity established to ensure the quality of wares sold by the Jewel Tea Company. Interestingly, this pattern wasn't named "Autumn Leaf" until the 1940s. Prior to that, it was called "Hall" or "Jewel" or "Autumnal." Hall made this design until 1978, and it is still Hall's most famous dinnerware line.
